Part 1 - Information Security education opportunities in the GTA (and beyond)The night's first talk will focus on the educational opportunities in the GTA for people interested in breaking into the information security field, or looking to improve their present position. After providing an brief overview of what's available, selected speakers will provide insights to help you choose the program that best suits your needs. Each speaker will provide an overview for 10 to 15 minutes, and then the floor will be opened for questions from the audience. Part 2 - Which security certifications really matter?Common questions for those entering the security field include: "Do I really need an academic background, or is it better to have relevant certifications"?, and "If I can get by with just certifications, which ones do I need"? We've assembed a panel of security practitioners from local companies to address these questions, and provide insight on how employers view security education and certifications.The panel will be composed of:
