TASK is opening the year with a special presentation on Privacy, followed by Speed Talks!Ms. Tracy Kosa, renowned privacy proponent and researcher, will begin the the meeting with a presentation on Privacy Impact Assessments - What are they, and what role does information security play in assessing privacy? The talk will include an overview of how a PIA is structured, and how you can use the PIA methodology to effectively assess privacy. Case studies will be presented - 'cuz Tracy knows her stuff!Following the break, a series of Speed Talks will be presented. These talks, 10 - 15 minutes in length, will cover a variety of information security subjects, including:
- The Canadian Cybersecurity Strategy
- New laws and regulations affecting Canadian security practitioners
- New open source tools and free security tools you should be using NOW!
*** There are still a few spaces available for the speedtalks. We're looking for brief, and interesting talks that pertain directly to information security. Vendors are welcome to speak as well, but "product pitches" are not tolerated .... And if your talk takes longer than 10 minutes, we can look at having you speak at an upcoming TASK meeting. So, if you have a subject you'd like to talk about, please contact info@task.to, or email me!Source: task
