TITLE: The Privilege Pilgrimage: How attackers penetrate Windows networks and what you can do about it
Speaker: Dana Epp, Scorpion Software
In this live demonstration, Dana will show how attackers with little to no privileges in a Windows environment can prod and pivot their way to gain full domain administrative rights and exfiltrate sensitive corporate information without your knowledge. He will expose some of the traditional weaknesses that IT professionals produce when managing Windows-based networks, and then discuss the steps Microsoft has been taking to help defend against such risks. Finally, he will examine some of the recent feature additions in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 that few people know about that can really help to assist in securing administrators when they manage Windows networks.
